We have just moved to Wales to be closer to adventure so we booked the night hike as we love a good a mountain trek. Starting at 6.30pm and ending at 11.30pm, we were not disappointed. The thought that went into the whole trek up was awesome. The route was away from the hordes of tourists. The view of the mountain spectacular and the approach challenging enough to feel like a real achievement by the end. Along the way, Dorian told us stories & legends of old, anecdotes from his times up the mountain, all about the geology and how that formed Wales’ prized coal industry, the constellations in superbly dark night skies, who first inhabited these lands, the Romans, the English and Scots, his intricate knowledge of the mountain itself and just general good banter was awesome. If you’re in the area, this is a great experience with an awesome chap! Even gave us some tips for further adventure in our new life here in Wales.
